Charles Fritz
Known for his historical accuracy and luminous landscapes, Fritz dedicated ten years to illustrating the Journals of Lewis and Clark. The complete collection of 100 paintings was exhibited for the first time during the summer of 2009 at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. Exhibited at nine museums, the collection’s tenth exhibition will be at the Woolaroc Museum in 2012. An accompanying book which Fritz wrote, won the Silver Medal ~ Benjamin Franklin Award for history books in 2010. His work is held in the permanent collections of the Denver Art Museum, The Buffalo Bill Historical Center, The C.M. Russell Museum, and the MacNider Art Museum.
