Michael Coleman Michael Coleman, a native of Provo, Utah, spent his boyhood hunting, fishing, and trapping. Early in life, he decided on a career in art, studying at Brigham Young University. His paintings are rich in detail, muted in tone, true to the remote landscapes he illustrates, and rendered in such a way as to give the viewer a sense of gazing on the past. Coleman's work has been exhibited at the Kennedy Galleries and the J.N. Bartfield Galleries, the Gerald Peters Gallery, the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, and the C.M. Russell Museum. In 1996, the National Dutche Jad Museum in Munich featured an exhibition of his work. He won the 1999 Prix de West Award.
