Cody Hosts Western Arts Festival

Cody, Wyo. – The 2004 Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale will feature more than 100 juried contemporary Western artists Sept. 24-25 at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody – the eastern gateway to Yellowstone National Park.

Now in its 23rd year, the Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale is the centerpiece of Cody’s annual arts celebration, the Rendezvous Royale, also featuring the Western Design Conference and the Buffalo Bill Historical Center’s black-tie gala, the Patrons Ball.

The show and sale will present close to 200 oil paintings, watercolors, pastels, sculpture, ceramic and mixed media pieces. The main exhibition will be open for a full month prior to the auction in the Historical Center’s Photography Gallery.

Participating artists include Cyrus Afsary, Gerald Balciar, John Fawcett, T.J. Feeley, Mel Fillerup, Ann Hanson, Harry Jackson, Steven Lang, Laurie J. Lee, Ralph Oberg, Carol Peek, M.C. Poulsen, Linda S. Raynolds, Kevin Red Star, Sherry Salari Sander and Craig Tennant.

The weekend includes special exhibits, studio tours, artist demonstrations and seminars in conjunction with the art show and the Western Design Conference – an exhibit of cutting-edge creations by 95 of the nation’s top furnishing designers.
