'Round Town Applications Due April 15

Cody, Wyo.—Cody business owners are reminded to apply by April 15 to participate in the 2005 Rendezvous Royale by hosting an arts-related event in their place of business during Cody’s annual arts celebration, Sept. 21-24.

By hosting an artists’ reception, demonstration, book signing, or similar creative event relating to arts or design, merchants can attract new customers and enhance Cody’s ambiance as an arts community, says Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale Director Deb Stafford.

The times and locations of ‘Round Town Events are widely publicized at no charge in the Rendezvous Royale schedule of events, and participants receive a collectible 2005 poster for display. Rendezvous Royale includes the Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale, the Western Design Conference and Buffalo Bill Historical Center’s Patrons Ball.

Business owners are asked to create, plan, and execute an event related to art and/or design. The Rendezvous Royale Coalition Steering Committee will review applications and select participants. The committee encourages one-time events on any day Wednesday, Sept. 21, through Saturday, Sept. 24. The dates of Sept. 21-22 are preferred.

Last year’s lineup included a display of one-of-a-kind quilts at Park County Library, a new exhibit by Cody Country artists at The Beta Coffeehouse, a jewelry demonstration at Yellowstone Gift Shop, a new photography show at Open Range Images, and a variety of receptions and print signings by artists at Cody galleries.

Business owners who received an application in the mail are reminded of the April 15 deadline to submit forms to the Cody Country Chamber of Commerce, 836 Sheridan Ave. Additional forms may be obtained there.
