Gilly Fales Fine Art Scholarship Award

History of Winners

The Gilly Fales Fine Art Award is being offered in partnership with the Buffalo Bill Art Show & Sale providing support and exposure to aspiring young Wyoming artists.

Who Qualifies?
The scholarships are available to Wyoming artists ages 18-30 majoring in art-related programs in college or participating in other types of art-related ventures.

What Kind of Work Qualifies?
The program accepts a broad range of original western art, including landscape, wildlife/sporting, figurative, and Native American subject matter. The submitted piece must be appropriately framed or prepared for display.

How are the Awards Chosen?
An anonymous jury selects two $500 scholarship recipients, one in two-dimensional and one in three-dimensional work.

Opportunities for Selected Recipients
Recipients have the opportunity to display their work in the Buffalo Bill Art Show with over 100 of the best painters and sculptors in the West. Recipients are invited to the prestigious Buffalo Bill Center of the West to attend and participate in events held surrounding this year’s  Celebration in September.

Recipients’ work is viewed by show attendees and collectors from across the United States and can choose to sell their artwork while it is on display.

The show is on exhibit August 20 through September 20 in the John Bunker Sands Photography Gallery and is open to the public during the Buffalo Bill Center of the West's normal hours.
